SAMPLE PORTFOLIO
These are student samples from previous years (aside of the video which was a professional production). These are only partial samples- you must follow the directions in your packet to ensure full credit!
Portfolio Piece #1:
CRAYON ART
This piece is made entirely out of melted crayons. I created it using a canvas and a blow dryer. I created a similar piece that was made entirely from different shades of green crayons. It was created for my English 12 class, instructed by Mrs. Angel Favazza. I received an A on this project. While creating this piece, I learned that using utensils as simple as crayons can create a beautiful picture.
Portfolio Piece #2:
NEWSPAPER MERIT AWARD
This award was given to me during the time I was the layout editor of The Vanguard during my junior year at Stevenson after being in the class after only one year. I put in hours of work every issue, staying after school until sometimes 10 o'clock at night. I competed against many different schools and won third place for the layout design of an advertisement for a page for the Titan Shoppe at the 2012 MIPA competition. My adviser was Ms. Paula Pantano. Graphic Design is something I hope to pursue in my future at CMU.
Portfolio Piece #3:
LOCKS OF LOVE DONATION
As a freshman in high school, I donated 10 inches of hair to the Locks of Love Organization. I received an award of appreciation from my donated hair. It feels great to know that my hair went to someone in need. From this experience, I learned selflessness. Sometimes, it's best to put others less fortunate than you before yourself. I also learned gratefulness, I'm grateful that I donated hair to a child that may have a poor self-image due to their hair loss. And although I never got to know who my hair went to, I just hope they can look in a mirror and smile, because with or without hair, they're still a beautiful soul.
